Tomaž Krajnc

Theatre Director

ABOUT

Tomaž is a theatre and film director with over 15 years of theatre experience. After finishing a psychology undergraduate course, he graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a master's degree in directing. He has directed many publicly and critically acclaimed shows, including The Pillowman, which became the first play in the 54-year history of the Linhart Festival to receive all four awards (Best Play, Best Direction, two acting awards). An authorial version of Macbeth was also a big success, earning him an award for original directorial ideas at the same festival.

More recently, he's been working as a director and assistant director in the UK. In May 2022 he led a successful London tour of a new writing piece Flightpath. He is currently directing a modern adaptation of Pinocchio and developing a play Semantics, which explores how language shapes who we are and how we think.

He has directed four films and a very successful web series Dualism.

He is passionate about international work and is a strong advocate of theatre that addresses global challenges through cultural exchange and diversity.
